Wall coverings have been out of favor since the 80's when many bad wall coverings became the week end project for many homeowners doing improvements. New technology has brought better product in the wall covering industry. These are not your granny's wall coverings.
Some of my favorites were developed for commercial use but prove perfect for the homeowner. These skins are some of my favorite. This Lucy Large Gator in bottle green evokes a clubby library with dark trim and modern furnishings.

These two skin wall coverings could be used in many rooms from powder bath to dining rooms to kitchens. As they are commercial grade, they could hold up to wear and tear in the kitchen. I can see the acid green used in a dining room with blue velvet chairs and warm accents. The warm cream is safe and could be used in any room. The possibilities are endless.

Flocked wall covering was a popular choice in the 1970's but this animal print flocked number from Max Martin Home is new and fresh. I see this in a powder bath or cozy den. Wouldn't you love to spend a cozy evening in a room with this on the walls.

If floral is your thing there are so many new ones to choose from. These do not mimic the historic floral. Kitchens, baths, nurseries, bedrooms or dining rooms; lots of uses for these bright, happy coverings. Some have an Asian feel which is a look that is coming back with a vengeance.

I am adding this because it just makes me happy and I would have a smile on my face every time I saw this. I can visualize this for a dressing room, bedroom, or even a nursery. I would be happy to dine surrounded by this.

Here is a variety of wall coverings perfect for a powder bath or perhaps even a nursery. Some of these chinoiserie evoke the past, some are elegant and some are just plain fun. This one with the circus motif makes me want to look for a nursery to decorate, so much fun.

The drama of these two beauties would make any powder bath dramatic. The powder bath is one room you can use drama without feeling too over the top. I do love a good dragon done well.
