Photograph and Measure

Drapery can be the icing that brings life to a room. New upholstery can give new life to a worn chair. Her are some photos from an app, Photo Measures, I use to measure for window treatments.  Whether ordering drapery panels, having them custom made or measuring a chair for upholstery or even getting the room measure right;  this is one of the best communication tools around.  Here are some photos I used to get started on a recent design project.

Room measure.

Will be replacing pub table and chairs with inviting seating area with chairs, end table and lamp.

Photo and measure for new console table.

Read previous post; Objects for a Home to see red table and bird lamp that will be placed here.  Art will be client's own.  Gold tone console table will be placed here and lamps from mantel will be moved to console table to create an inviting entry and light for tasks while sitting on sofa.

Measure for new silk drapery with gold rod in dining room.
This measure makes ordering drapery and communicating much easier.

Measure for new plaid silk drapery on either side of fireplace.

Not seen in photo is the angle that exist to the right and left of the windows.  This will demand that we hang the drapery lower than I like but the addition of the drapery will give a finished cozy feel to the room.

The previous post Objects for a Home will give you and idea of items we are using and give you an idea of the process of the design process.  The Photograph and Measure tool is one I am never without as it is on my phone.  Modern inventions making the design process better.
