This blog could be subtitled Modern Missouri Sophisticate. This project gave me the opportunity to work in a colorful, lovely home with some very chic, chic art. The owner has built and lived in several homes and at the age of 70 plus is enjoying that time of life when one is very secure in one's taste. A great place to be. The wall colors and fixed background were in place when I came on the scene but the dilemma was what to do with a narrow undefined room adjacent to the foyer and the dining room. Well, add color with a dramatic ikat fabric on a dramatic chair of course.

The rooted table acts as an accent table and will have a lamp added to create a intimate space for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with a friend. When the dinner party is for more than six the table and chairs can be pulled out to serve as a dining table for four. This is tribal rug we added to this space after these photos were taken.
The vibrant colors hold up to the art and furniture.
Dining chairs were needed to enhance the colorful personality of the client and mimic the art. We chose these Louis inspired chairs in a silver finish from Bernhardt Interiors. The custom fabric is a faux ostrich which is both beautiful and durable.

As you can see these vibrant colors reflect the beautiful piece of art in the dining room.
We had enough chairs to create a seating area in the great room that is enhanced by the colorful Flying Wall Bowls from Global Views. We have since added an up light and an accent table so that guests have a place to put food or drink.
This original art purchased by the owner at a gallery in California was the inspiration for using the Moroccan inspired console table.
Orchids in white pots were added.
In this inspired interior a Louis, an Ostrich and an Ikat have much in common and work well together. What a fun and lively interior to have the chance to work.
Love the color, the art and the sense of security of the homeowner. She knows what she loves...no trends for her. I really love the dining room art. Tarkay???
